Contemporary jewellery at the Alternatives Gallery, Rome

This week, we decided to introduced a very interesting gallery and webiste for jewelry lovers. Alternatives Gallery, in Rome, Italia, specialises in contemporary jewellery and is dedicated to the promotion of both newcomers and internationally established artists from all over the world.
The search for new types of materials and innovative techniques come together in contemporary jewellery expressing the end result of this research. Along with 5-6 solo and group exhibitions each year, Alternatives hosts 50-60 designers on a permanent basis.
The Gallery has been organising a series of events each year, since the gallery first opened in 1997, to promote and give value to a new way of interpreting personal adornment.
From the 19th of May to the 23rd of June 2007, Alternatives Gallery is pleased to present a key event in the field of contemporary jewellery, the exhibition entitled "Non tutto è oro ciò che luccica", meaning All that glitters is not gold. Nine ex students from two prestigious schools, the Academy of Fine Arts in Nurnberg and the contemporary jewellery school Alchimia in Florence are showing their latest work which result of research in the field of experimental jewellery that started while studying in their respective schools.
